English Translation
Beneath your
compassion,
We take refuge, O
Mother of God:
do not despise our
petitions in time of trouble:
but rescue us from
dangers,
only pure, only
blessed one.

Ὑπὸ τὴν σὴν εὐσπλαγχνίαν,
καταφεύγομεν,
Θεοτόκε.
Τὰς ἡμῶν ἱκεσίας,
μὴ παρίδῃς ἐν περιστάσει,
ἀλλ᾽ ἐκ κινδύνων λύτρωσαι
ἡμᾶς,
μόνη Ἁγνή, μόνη εὐλογημένη.
Sub tuum praesidium is the Church's Oldest Prayer to Our Lady dated to 250A.D.
The proper translation into Latin of "Theotokos" is Deipara. It is the term used in the Latin translation of the Greek term in the minutes of the Council of Ephesus.
