Mary, the Ark of the New Covenant: Summary

By c.pio

Luke like the rest of the bible writers, wove some marvelous things into his Gospel.

Hebrew 9:4

Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant...

Inside the Ark of Covenant

Inside Mary’s Womb
(Jesus Christ)

Golden pot that had Manna

"It is the bread the LORD has given you to eat. Exodus 16:12-15

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh." John 6:51

Aaron’s rod that budded

and also the woven garments, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests Exodus 31:10

When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation. Hebrew 9:11

Tablets of the covenant: Stone Tablets where 10 Commandments where written

This happened when I was on the mountain receiving the tablets of stone inscribed with the words of the covenant that the LORD had made with you. Deuteronomy 9:9

We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. 1John 1:1

From 2 Samuel 6:2-14:

The "Ark of Covenant"

And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Ba'ale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the LORD of hosts who sits enthroned on the cherubim.

And they carried the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abin'adab which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahi'o, the sons of Abin'adab, were driving the new cart with the ark of God; and Ahi'o went before the ark. And David and all the house of Israel were making merry before the LORD with all their might, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals. And when they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there because he put forth his hand to the ark; and he died there beside the ark of God. And David was angry because the LORD had broken forth upon Uzzah; and that place is called Pe'rez-uz'zah, to this day.

And David was afraid of the LORD that day; and he said, "How can the ark of the LORD come to me?" So David was not willing to take the ark of the LORD into the city of David; but David took it aside to the house of O'bed-e'dom the Gittite. And the ark of the LORD remained in the house of O'bed-e'dom the Gittite three months; and the LORD blessed O'bed-e'dom and all his household.

And it was told King David, "The LORD has blessed the household of O'bed-e'dom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God." So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of O'bed-e'dom to the city of David with rejoicing; and when those who bore the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling. And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

Now compare to Apostle Luke’s narration to Mary on Luke 1:39-45;56. Luke is telling us something—drawing our minds back to the Old Testament, showing us a parallel.

In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah, and she entered the house of Zechari'ah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord." [...] And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her home.

David “arose and went” to move the Ark.

Mary “arose and went” to transport her and her Son to the household of Elizabeth.

They're in Judah (they start out from Baale of Judah)

They're in Judah.

They're in the hill country: Abinadab's house is on one of these hills, and it's navigating these hills that causes the ox to stumble, the Ark to totter, and Uzzah to touch the Ark, which causes God to strike him dead.

They're in the hill country.

David, vexed by the death of Uzzah, asks, “How can the ark of the LORD come to me?”

Elizabeth's question mirrors David's, but is asked out of joy, rather than vexation: “And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?”

Obededom and his household are blessed by the presence of the Ark.

Elizabeth is blessed by the presence of Mary (“the mother of my Lord”).

David dances before the Ark.

John the Baptist dances in the womb upon hearing Mary's greeting.

The Ark stays with Obededom for three months.

Mary stays for three months.

Luke clearly drew a parallel between the Ark of Covenant and Mary. Truly, Mary is the new, living Ark chosen to bear the God-Messiah.

In Revelation 11:19-12:2, here's what Apostle John sees:

Then God's Temple in Heaven was opened, and the Ark of His Covenant was seen within His Temple; and there were flashes of lightning, voices, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail. And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; she was with Child and she cried out in her pangs of birth, in anguish for delivery.

The long lost "Ark of Covenant" was seen but after this, a woman “brought forth a Male Child, One who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron” (Rev. 12:5) shine in glory.

And it is the same title “woman” used by Christ to address her mother (Mary) while he was on the cross fulfilling his redemptive mission: Woman, here is your Son” [John 19:26]

This Woman that God found with favor, fullof Grace, blessed among women, the handmaid of the Lord that God was referring to in his promise:

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

  1. When talking with other members of different sects about the Virgin Mary; their first line of attack is “you Catholics worship Mary.” I asked them, “why you people always accuse us of that calumny?” of course, they never respond to that question; why? Because, they do not know what they are talking about, they are repeating what they have been taught when they abandoned the Church. Because, after the council, most probably, few years later many Catholics left the Church or become non believers, and I know why, I think they were abandoned by the new parading created by the Liberals and Modernists, regarding the inexplicable changes within the Mass or NO Mass of the post conciliar Church. I bring this about because, regarding every single dogma of the Church are questioned by the new theologians, including that of the Virgin Mary “the Vessel of the most Holy Trinity.” suffices to say that being the Mother of God, in the Person of God the Son, it is unquestioned that God prevent Mary from any stain since the creation of the world. It is impossible for God to dwell in a place tainted by sin. We do not need to use any Father of the Church or dogma to prove that the Virgin deserves all the human titles available within the confines or our fallen nature. Nobody, in his right mind can doubt that the Virgin Mary deserves to be honoring above all the angels of heaven, including the Seraphim, who are closer to the Godhead. The titles given by the popes to the Virgin Mary and the veneration we give her are not even close to the (divine) titles given to her by the Godhead. All of us know that she is just below to the Trinity, and justly, for God is above all we can think of. The devils in hell are prohibited to mention her Holy Name according to the mystics; God would not allow her name to be tainted by these impure beings. Yes, Mary is the Mother of all human titles and beings because, God whishes that way; it is impossible not to honor her, if we fail to honor Mary, the Godhead will surely punish us for failed to practice the Four Commandment. God bless
